June 18th and 19th , 2011

Class starts at 10 am on both days at MonElissa Studio. Saturday will end at 3. Sunday will end at 4. A one-hour lunch break each day give a full 4 hours in class on Saturday and 5 hours on Sunday, for a total of 9 hours.

Maximum class size 7 people, at a cost of $250 per person.

If weather permits we may work outside in the orchard.

Saturday Agenda

The morning will be spent discussing the beginnings of expressionism and the components of a picture such as points of interest and composition. We will talk about perspective and see it in relation to and with other objects in our photos. This session will define the ‘how-to’ of seeing a realistic view in an expressionist way before actually sketching it.

The afternoon will be spent sketching out our representation of our original photo and getting it ready for the canvas. I will provide assistance to each student in the transfer from paper to canvas.

Sunday Agenda

We will spend a brief time discussing colour schemes, warm and cold colours,  tones and shadows, then we will transfer our sketched work to canvas and paint paint paint.
