I’m working on a new commission I’d like to share as it progresses. My clients want to hang this seascape above their stairs, so it’s a three-piece worked from a single sketch so that the pieces follow the stair line.
Here’s the sketch with the three pieces outlined. The ‘common denominator’ will be the horizon.

After completing the sketch and checking the composition(s) I drew the images on 28″ x 22″ canvas and got two of my “young apprentices” to help with the under-painting. Here’s the progress so far and I’ll keep you posted!

The direction I am heading for this year is focusing on driftwood and reflections! I just love these. Have a look at my latest ~ enjoy. They are both on display now at the MonElissa Studio.
