“Seasons UnEarthed” Spring ClassesI’m taking names for classes to start in mid February, either here at the MonelissaStudio in Bowser or in Parksville. Send an email or leave a phone message to get your name on the list! Request for Critique/FeedbackSally sent me this image of her recent painting and asked
The painting looks great. The composition is sound. The house which could have dominated the picture has cleverly been toned down so that the fishermen in the front holds his own. I only have a couple of concerns ~ The foreground on the right hand side could use some depth. Perhaps a cobalt blue mixed with Paynes grey and some more greens both cold and warm to finish it off. Also I am thinking that the white on the foreground grasses on the left need to be changed from white to pale yellow or yellow green so that the viewer isnt confused thinking it is snow. The water is great ~ maybe a bit to much white ~ remember he is not fishing in a roaring torrent. The foreground water is awesome ~ I can see thru it to the bottom which is the affect you want. Did you achieve this with glazes? All in all a lovely painting Sally. Thanks for sharing…………….elissa |
